Description
Experience the dramatic landscapes, remote villages and legendary mountain roads of Ha Giang on an intense 3-day, 2-night Eastern Loop adventure.
Designed for travelers who want to experience a large part of the Ha Giang region in a shorter amount of time, this itinerary combines mountain passes, traditional villages, local homestays, hiking, river scenery and cultural encounters across one of northern Vietnam’s most spectacular regions.
This is a fast-paced and physically demanding journey, with long and active days. The operator recommends it for travelers who are comfortable with strenuous activities lasting six hours or more.
The tour operates in a small group of up to 6 guests, allowing for a more personal experience along the route.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Hanoi / Ha Giang → Du Gia
Travelers using the operator’s transfer from Hanoi are normally picked up at approximately 6:00–6:15 AM and transferred north to Ha Giang.
If you are already staying in Ha Giang, the guide normally meets you at your hotel at approximately 9:00 AM before taking you to the operator’s base.
Safety Preparation & Tour Briefing
Before beginning the mountain journey, the team conducts safety procedures and a briefing about traffic conditions in Vietnam.
The operator also uses this time for basic preparation and riding practice where relevant.
Lunch is normally served at approximately 12:30 PM, followed by the final trip briefing before the group begins the journey into the mountains.
Journey to Du Gia
Leave Ha Giang and travel through dramatic valleys, mountain scenery and remote villages toward Du Gia.
There will be stops along the route for:
• Scenic viewpoints
• Photography
• Rest breaks
• Village and landscape experiences
When conditions allow, there may also be an opportunity to stop at a waterfall for a swim.
The first night is spent at a local Tay homestay in Du Gia, surrounded by the mountains.
Dinner is served at the homestay before settling in for the night.
Day 2 – Du Gia → Mau Due → Ma Pi Leng → Meo Vac → Nho Que Region
After breakfast, continue deeper into some of the most spectacular and remote scenery of Ha Giang.
Mau Due & the “Road of Children”
Along the route, stop for coffee around Mau Due, an area described by the operator as the beginning of the “road of children.”
This part of the journey offers a glimpse into daily life in the highlands, with minority communities living and working among the rocky mountain landscape.
Ma Pi Leng Pass
Continue toward Ma Pi Leng, one of the most famous and dramatic mountain passes in Vietnam.
Rather than only viewing the pass from the road, this itinerary includes an approximately 4 km hike, offering more time to experience the landscape and reach memorable viewpoints.
The surrounding scenery features steep limestone mountains, deep valleys and some of the most iconic views of the Ha Giang region.
Tu San Abyss Alley
Continue toward Tu San Abyss Alley, one of the most dramatic natural landscapes in the region.
The itinerary includes a cruise through the canyon area before continuing toward Meo Vac.
Lunch in Meo Vac
Stop for lunch in Meo Vac, one of the main highland towns along the Ha Giang Loop.
After lunch, continue toward the river area and your overnight accommodation.
Riverside Homestay
Spend the second night at a homestay beside the river.
Depending on conditions and personal preference, guests often wake early the following morning for a sunrise swim or kayak experience before breakfast.
Day 3 – Lung Cu → H’Mong King’s Palace → Lung Tam → Ha Giang
After breakfast, prepare for the final day of the journey.
Vietnam’s Extreme North
Travel toward the Extreme North Point near Lung Cu, close to the border between Vietnam and China.
On clear days, the landscape can offer views toward settlements across the border in China.
H’Mong King’s Palace
Continue to the historic residence commonly known as the H’Mong King’s Palace.
The stop provides insight into the history of one of the region’s most influential H’Mong families and the unique architecture and culture of the northern highlands.
Lung Tam Traditional Weaving Village
Visit Lung Tam, a village known for traditional hemp-linen production.
You’ll have the opportunity to see how local craftspeople transform hemp into fabric through the different stages of the traditional process.
The operator also describes an opportunity to try part of the cloth-working process yourself — a hands-on way to experience one of the region’s traditional crafts.
Return to Ha Giang
After a farewell lunch, begin the final journey back to Ha Giang.
Arrival is expected at approximately 4:00 PM, with drop-off at your hotel in Ha Giang.
Optional Return to Hanoi
For travelers using the operator’s onward transfer, arrival in central Hanoi is normally around 10:30 PM, with airport drop-off around 10:00 PM.
The operator normally makes a dinner stop at approximately 7:00 PM during the drive back.
Transfer arrangements and any applicable additional charges will be confirmed after booking.
Who Is This Tour For?
This tour is best suited to travelers who:
• Want to see a large part of Ha Giang in only three days
• Are comfortable with long and active travel days
• Enjoy mountain scenery, local villages and cultural experiences
• Are comfortable staying in local homestays
• Can participate in strenuous activity for extended periods
• Prefer a small-group experience
The operator specifically classifies the tour as strenuous and notes that the three-day itinerary is faster and more tiring than its four-day Eastern Loop.
Sunday Highland Markets
Sunday is an important market day for many ethnic minority communities in the region.
When the itinerary timing allows — particularly for certain Friday departures — the operator may be able to incorporate a local highland market into the journey.
Market visits depend on the schedule and final route and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
Important Safety Information
This is important and I would not hide it.
The operator explicitly warns that riding a motorbike in Ha Giang without appropriate experience can be dangerous.
Experienced riders should also ensure they have the appropriate legal driving documentation.
Most importantly, the supplier specifically states that travelers who want to self-ride a motorbike should choose the 4-day Eastern Loop rather than this shorter 3-day itinerary.
Therefore, my recommendation for WE LOVE VIETNAM:
For this 3D2N product, publicly sell primarily:
Passenger with Local Guide / Easy Rider
I would not sell the self-driving Semi-Automatic or XR150 options online on this product, even though the supplier quoted prices for them, because that directly conflicts with the supplier’s own safety recommendation.
Guests Requiring Additional Assistance
Guests with back problems, elderly travelers, families with young children or anyone with physical limitations should inform us before booking.
The operator asks for advance notice so suitable arrangements can be discussed.
Itinerary Changes
Ha Giang is a mountainous region where weather, road conditions, group pace and local conditions can affect the itinerary.
The guide may adjust the order of stops or individual parts of the route when necessary for safety or operational reasons.
